Christie's APAC HQ by COLLECTIVE Achieves LEED Platinum Certification

Video Production: Sense of Wonder Productions
Creative Direction: COLLECTIVE

Christie’s Asia Pacific Headquarters, designed by COLLECTIVE, has achieved LEED Platinum Certification! This accomplishment reflects the project’s alignment with the highest sustainability standards, emphasizing environmentally responsible design and construction practices that enhance operational efficiency and promote well-being.

At the core of COLLECTIVE’s design solution is an innovative changeover strategy that features a meticulously planned system of large, electronically movable walls and sliding panels, enabling effortless spatial transformations on the 6th and 7th gallery floors. This system significantly reduces construction waste in exhibition making, while utilizing recyclable materials like aluminum and natural materials such as timber and stone for durability. Automated lighting and smart building control systems further enhance energy efficiency throughout the space.

The video (above) demonstrates how the 50,000-square-foot headquarters integrates interchangeable auction and exhibition spaces with museum-standard infrastructures to exhibit a variety of objects from intimate pieces to large-scale installations. The video also shows the compartmentalization of the Client floor through electronically movable walls, to create private lounges, viewing rooms, wine-tasting areas with a bespoke temperature and humidity-controlled wine cabinet, and the Giuseppe Eskenazi Art Library.
