DISPLAY TOOLS DESIGN
COLLECTIVE X UME STUDIO
In addition to designing the Interior Architecture of the Valextra Honolulu Store, COLLECTIVE also designs the display tools for small leather goods and bags. We collaborated with our friends at Ume Studio from Oakland California in creating gypsum-based casted objects.
The design treats the display tools as artifacts ‘broken’ off from the large scale display systems, matching in scale and material color with the ceramic and raw earth surfaces of the COLLECTIVE-designed Valextra Honolulu store, together with Ume Studio’s expertise in materiality and casting, we created a series of 6 gypsum based objects matching the colour and warmth of the dominating materials of the Interior Architecture.
