INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE
The Museum Retail Store for Power Station of Art in Shanghai is a collage of the “Power Station” and the “Museum” through materiality: any surfaces above the datum table height of 800mm is cladded with industrial galvanized steel with the merchandise display finished with museum standard plastered white paint.
The store is an “Enormous Table”: a room-sized table excavated for circulation with indents and convolutions for increased merchandizing frontages.
The galvanized steel walls become a magnetized surface which allows the store to change its display and also accommodate flexibility for the Power Store to host events and screening.
